Switzer Falls

Switzer Falls, located near Tujunga, California, isn't directly on Switzer Truck Trail, but is a popular hike accessed through the Angeles National Forest. The main attraction is the namesake waterfall, a 50-foot cascade with a refreshing pool ideal for swimming in warmer months.

The hike itself is a moderately challenging 3.7-mile out-and-back trail along the Gabrielino Trail. While not overly strenuous, it does involve some downhill and uphill sections. The route offers scenic views, a babbling brook, and even a glimpse into history with the ruins of Switzer's Camp, an old wilderness resort.

Reaching the falls takes about 1 hour and 48 minutes on average. Due to its popularity, expect crowds, especially on weekends.  If you're looking for a refreshing escape with a scenic hike and a chance to cool off under a waterfall, Switzer Falls is a great option. Just remember to pack your swimsuit, wear sturdy shoes, and be prepared for fellow hikers.
