Buckhorn Campground, nestled in the Angeles National Forest, is a serene and secluded spot for camping enthusiasts. Located off Angeles Crest Highway, this campground offers a peaceful escape from the city, surrounded by lush forests and scenic mountain views. With 38 campsites, Buckhorn provides a more intimate camping experience compared to larger, more crowded campgrounds. Each site is equipped with a picnic table, fire ring, and access to vault toilets and potable water. The campground is well-shaded by towering pine trees, making it a great spot for summer camping when temperatures rise.

The area is known for its numerous hiking trails, including the popular Burkhart Trail, which leads to the dramatic Cooper Canyon Falls. Wildlife is abundant, and campers might spot deer, squirrels, and a variety of bird species. Stargazing is another highlight, as the remote location minimizes light pollution, offering clear night skies. Buckhorn Campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis, so early arrival is recommended, especially on weekends. Its proximity to Los Angeles makes it an accessible destination for a quick nature retreat, offering a taste of the wilderness without a long drive.
